Ballymacash Neighbourhood Community Craft Group held a Remembrance Service yesterday ahead of Remembrance Weekend at The Bluebell Sports Village.
A superb turnout saw representatives from Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council, NIHE, Police Lisburn & Castlereagh, Ballymacash Community Centre, Royal British Legion Lisburn and many other groups including a community group from Ballymena who the craft group have been working with.
A wide range of the arts and crafts the group has been working on in preparation of the event were on display as well as a display from the groups recent visit to the war graves in Dublin. The RBL gave a talk on the history of the Royal British Legion and how it assists ex servicemen and their familes today.
The group had also built a replica of the Cenotaph in Dublin that they visited, that was at the centre of the Acts of Remembrance yesterday.
Ballymacash Rangers Football Club Chaplain, Andrew Thompson, led the outdoor service , assisted by representatives from Lisburn RBL.
A fantastic morning organised by the Ladies of the Craft Club who continue to go from strength to strength, arranging activities, day trips and events like yesterday.
