Secretary of State for NI visits Bluebell – 25 May 2023

Ballymacash Sports Academy Directors and Management were delighted to have a visit from the NI Secretary of State, Chris Heaton Harris, who was showing his support for our exciting new Community Village Hub Building.

Also in attendance were David Burns (Chief Exec LCCC) , Jenny Martin NI (Levelling Up Fund), Phelim Sharvin (Community Finance Ireland) and James Martin (Principal, Laurelhill Community College).

The project tender for this next phase was won by Leo Matheson Ltd and it won’t be long before the whole community can access the new facilities for a wide range of activities and bookings.

Thanks to everyone who has backed the project in recent years and we hope that thousands of young people and community groups will benefit for years to come.

The Secretary of State also inspected the hard work going on in the community allotments by Live Life Well-Being Centre and also met pupils from Laurelhill Community College who get use of our pitch regularly as part of our joint partnership, which we will be formally announcing in the next couple of weeks.

Thank you for taking the time to visit Chris Heaton-Harris MP, it was a great afternoons craic had by all.
