Prior to 2016 there was one Grass Football pitch at The Bluebell and Changing Facilities that met the criteria for clubs to play at Intermediate Level in Northern Ireland.
The Board of Directors were assisted by a local resident Keith Bingham who heard of our plans and assisted in putting together a professional Tender Document pro bono for which we will always be grateful.
Following a competitive tender process, evaluation and scoring were carried out by BSA Directors with assistance from an independent observer from DfC, with the Contract being award to Tony Pattersons Sports Grounds.
The 1st Phase of the redevelopment of The Bluebell saw the construction of the first, and still the only, Full Size Floodlit 3G pitch in Lisburn.
The new pitch cost £520,000 and was funded through the money raised by the 2018 Share Offer, Army Covenant Fund, Department for Communities , Whitemountain Programme, and a finance loan from UCIT (now Community Finance Ireland)
